BTS Program Overview:
The current youth crisis which BTS addresses is the extreme need for positive, physical fitness options
which develop a sustainable healthy attitude toward the future for impover-ished inner city youth.

Wrestling is exceptionally well suited as a vehicle for delivering developmental assets to your youth.
It is one of the few sports that provides opportunities for children of all sizes to excel. The sport is
demanding physically and mentally requiring participants to master multiple disciplines including
strength, endurance, nutrition, weight control, confidence, dedication, and self-esteem.

BTS accomplishes this by providing wrestling opportunities within the framework of a unique coach/mentoring plan. With lesson plans, the coach/mentor spends a portion of each session working with his team on instilling the importance of the program which includes strong, positive attitudes toward education, adult relationships, community, moral values, etc. We know that coach/wrestler relationship tend to be one of the strongest influences on youth. So our volunteer coaches convey these values in a way that will be taken seriously.

The result is a model well designed to achieve the positive outcome of improve physical health, improved self-esteem, increased interest in community, increased success at school and lower incidence of substance abuse.

Additionally, BTS supports inner city programs by providing the following services:
• Financial Support - equipment, uniforms, mats and other operational issues
• Training Support - fitness programs, style and form assistance
• Information Support - event schedules and regulation changes
• Promotional Support - marketing, fundraising and clinics
• Operational Support - Booster development, board development and tournament planning
• Conflict Management Support
• Other support as needed
