Primary:
• Institute a wrestling program based on the Beat the Streets mentoring concepts teach-ing leadership, integrity , health, teamwork and respect through a non-competitive but physical fitness focused wrestling curriculum.
Secondary:
• Provide a second level program for those who want to continue wrestling at a more competitive level.
Our experiences of the past few years have inspired us to tackle the issues preventing local clubs from taking the wrestling experience beyond “flopping around on a mat.”
It is our vision that BTS participants will apply wrestling’s hallmark values of hard work and perseverance to their own lives and use them to give back to their community through leadership, integrity, good-health, teamwork, and respect for others.
It is our mission to partner with clubs to develop mentoring opportunities in the following five key areas:
1. mentoring and leadership, 2. community involvement, 3. program development,
4. identity/teamwork, and 5. financial development.
We have found that clubs need assistance in operation, organization and communi-cation to do more than just exist on a yearly basis. Therefore, we support them in their mentoring efforts on multiple levels.
